Bath Remodeling FAQs (pg. 2)

What kind of warranty do you provide?

Our general warranty is for one year after completion of the project. However, we expect to recommend and install materials that will last for a very long time. We have and will extend our warranty based upon common sense and in the best interest of the customer.

Are you insured ?

Yes. Our insurer is Donegal Mutual Insurance Co. in Marietta, PA. We will provide specific insurance coverage information upon request.

Are applicable permits paid by you?

Permit costs will vary from one municpality to another as well as vary depending on the size of the project. Also, depending on the size and scope of the porject, permits may or may not be required. Therefore, initially our proposals do not include permit costs, but our sales and project management team can assist you in determining these costs and acquiring a permit when needed.

Can I do some of the work myself ?

Yes. We can customize a remodeling project and schedule to help you save money by doing certain aspects yourself. However, our experience is that the project can be delayed when the customer gets involved with the construction process. We cannot guarantee a finish date or quality of the project when the customer provides some of the labor.

What is your experience with ADA or handicap accessible bathrooms ?

With more & more people staying longer in their homes many of our clients have chosen to make existing bathrooms more user-friendly for senior citizens and others with disabilities. The Bath Barn has helped transform existing bathroom to make them more accessible using a variety of different products and fixtures. Some of the more popular choices include replacing a tub that’s difficult to step over with a walk-in shower that features a safety seat, safety grab bars and a hand-held shower within convenient reach. Grab bars are anchored by wood blocking that is installed in the walls and are carefully placed in locations pre-tested by the current or eventual users. Other designs include wheelchair-accessible bath rooms; sometimes with a ramped shower base (if there is enough space) or in smaller areas we have converted tub and shower areas witha more safe bathing option such as a tub with a walk thru door with built in hydrotherapy systems. The addition of a main floor bathroom when the only other is on the second floor can also be a practical and relatively economical solution.

We thrive on the challenges presented by designing and constructing bathrooms that meet your every need--for today and tomorrow.

I have very little decorating sense. How can I make sure my bathroom is beautiful?

We have experienced bathroom designers and decorators on staff to help you with the overall look of your new bathroom. The Bath Barn Showroom is equipped to help show you how your dream bath can become a reality. Our experienced design team and sales team will e there to help make this process exciting and fun.

How do I select the best materials and fixtures for my bathroom ?

The showroom staff at The Bath Barn will guide you through this selection process. They will show you the variety of options you have in selecting all the materials and fixtures you need for your new bath.

Will there be a big mess?

We take-to-heart this invasion of your home and privacy. We respect your property by: laying down clean tarps as needed, taking down pictures, etc. that could fall off the wall, installing a ventilation fan when there is a window, clean the work space and traffic areas daily, dust and vacuum nearby spaces, and clean the bathroom thoroughly on the final day of construction. Our staff dons shoe-covering booties as they enter your home so you needn’t worry about dirt and dust being tracked through.

Do I have to plan more money than your contract price?

Our strong belief is "NO SURPRISES" for our customer. We will never ask for a change in our final contract price regardless of the surprises we might find during the construction process. We have done and seen everything involving bathroom remodeling; the surprises will have already been anticipated. Only additional work requested by the customer would require a contract price change.

What are the current popular features being installed in new bathrooms?

Personal hand showers, body sprays, deep soaking tubs, larger showers, whirlpools baths, safety grab bars, better lighting, frameless shower doors, vanity linens and wall cabinets, vessel sinks and seats in showers.
