Remodeling

Where to start:
First, collect your ideas for the project. Visit the KOHLER web site to view a variety of bathroom floor plans.
This is a great resource to help you focus on the most important aspects of your remodel.

Then, call MZI or submit a request online to have an MZI estimator make arrangements to look at the job. You should begin first by contacting us because our estimator may be able to give some suggestions and help with the planning of the project.

What can be done:
We can arrange to do all work necessary to have your project completed code compliant, we can also make arrangements to have all permits pulled for the project.

Maybe you are interested in having MZI handle the whole remodeling project for you. MZI employees will do the demolition, plumbing, heating, electrical and small carpentry and trim.

Other areas of the project will be sub-contracted as follows:

If the project is a large renovation including moving or adding walls and doors, MZI will assign Perron Construction to act as the General Contractor, and MZI will serve as the Plumbing Sub Contractor. Otherwise, MZI will serve as the General Contractor.

So regardless of the size of your project, we are willing to work with you! You have the option to do part of the job yourself or give us the whole job to handle. And remember, as the plumbing contractor, you can visit our beautiful showroom, The Bath Barn, to choose all of your plubming fixtures.

How long will it take:
There are many factors that determine the duration of a project, however the average project will take between 3 and 5 weeks.

How we can help:
The best way to help is to contact us prior to doing any work yourself. We may be able to save you some time and money.

What are some common problems:

  • Customer will replace floor and then call to renovate the bathroom.
  • Customer will paint then want to renovate their bathroom. It would be better to wait until the renovation is complete.
  • Wall hangings should be removed in adjoining rooms in case of vibration or even a wall being punctured.

What to look for:

  • Repairing something more then once a year
  • Old, poor looking units
  • Ceilings below show signs of being wet
  • Drains, lav, tub and toilet do not work properly
